Blue Valley Elliptical Head Shearing/ Flanging Machine
The Blue Valley Elliptical Head Machine has been manufactured by us for over 75 years. At the time of its introduction, the Elliptical Head Machine revolutionized the truck and trailer tank head industry.
Although this machine is used primarily for the fabrication of truck and trailer tank heads which are oval, the machine is able to also make round tank heads.
The Blue Valley Model 87 Elliptical Head Shearing and Flanging Machine is able to shear and flange flat, dished, and reverse dish tank heads.
The machine uses a template which is made from flat steel that is the exact shape and size of the required finished product. The Elliptical Head Machine is able to both shear and flange the work piece and allows the operator the ability to achieve the overall size and flange height in one setup.
Today the Blue Valley Model 87 is offered with a Vacuum Holding System. The work piece is positioned on a Vacuum Seal. After the tank head is sheared and flanged it is removed from this Vacuum Seal. There is no marking on the tank head when compared to other methods of work holding.
The machine is entirely self-contained and all functions can be easily controlled by one operator.
A normal size tank head can be completed by one operator in approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Smaller diameter circles and ovals can be done much quicker. It is no wonder then that the Blue Valley Elliptical Head Machine has been so popular with so many customers for so many decades.
